Design

Our design work starts with your specifications for fit & function, price point and your perception of style. We then turn loose our imagination to design you a custom clamshell, tray or blister package that will set you apart from your competition.
Engineering

Final package designs result in fully engineered 3-D solid surface models using the latest in CAD software. Engineered design models are programmed in the latest CAM software and are used to drive our precision CNC tool fabrication shop.
If you already have engineered designs, send us your CAD files. We can work with all major CAD/CAM formats.
Tooling

Walter Drake's in-house staff of toolmakers uses only the highest quality, aircraft grade aluminum and CNC machined tolerances to fabricate new tooling. Our commitment to precision tooling assures the superior fit and function of your clamshell, tray or blister package.
If you already own tooling, we can usually work with it to make similar, and often better, quality parts for you immediately. In many cases, our mold shop is able to upgrade your tooling to make noticeably better parts than you have been receiving.
Manufacturing

Our thermoformed package manufacturing equipment is state-of-the-art and carries a full complement of process control accessories. Our close tolerance, high-speed in-line process delivers the highest quality at the lowest prices.
Because our customers rely on us to solve a wide range of clamshell, tray and blister applications, we have developed a supply network to source raw materials from all over the world and the experience to mold difficult raw materials into fully certified parts.
We routinely run a variety of virgin, laminated and recycled raw materials that include PVC, vinyl, PET, PETG, HIPS, styrene, flocked styrene, OPS, polyethylene, polypropylene, medical grade laminates and static dissipative (ESD) materials in gauges from .0075" to .070". Colors vary from clear to standard opaque to custom PMS color matches.
Clean Room
Do you need an ultra-clean package? Our Class 1000 clean room handles all contamination free production requirements, with special emphasis on medical, pharmaceutical and electronics applications. Our conditioned environment applies to our production and packing areas alike and includes laminar air flow, web cleaning, ionizing and other static dissipative equipment.
Quality Assurance

Walter Drake is fully and voluntarily ISO compliant. Our calibrated equipment, our employee training records, our documented procedures and our written records are at the core of our comprehensive quality assurance program. We are proactive from purchase order through packing control, with documented traceability from customer quotation through to shipping release. Our raw material can be traced back to our supplier's production data and your finished clamshells, trays and blisters can be traced back to our use of that raw material and to our production data. We routinely receive the highest rating from customer and third party quality audits, including medical and pharmaceutical accounts.
